This is more or less the story of the game. There are three different sides in Armies of Exigo, with the third joining the fray later in the campaign. The game offers quite a few interesting features, such as travelling in and exploring underground passages, the ability to form "supergroups" comprised of several traditional squads assigned to numbers Heroes are the most powerful units in the game, but all units advance with experience, even if they do so slowly. Also, being a traditional RTS with base building, Armies of Exigo utilizes three kinds of resources: gold, wood and gems.

Arx Fatalis
Arx was a once a prosperous place. However, after one night the sun of the world of Exosta never rose again, and the blistering cold forced their inhabitants into the dwarf mines. There, a new city was built, and humans, trolls and dwarfs lived along peacefully, until the scarce resources proved to be too few for everyone. The animosity started to build up, and conflict between races ensued.
The player starts the game dazed out, being dragged into a cell by a troll. Where is he? Why did he end up there? Who is he? With only that in mind, the adventure starts...The unofficial sequel to Ultima Underworld Series, Arx Fatalis is a first person RPG (which means combat, exploration and interaction are all seen by the eyes of the player) played on a gigantic underground world connected by tunnels and ladders. As most places lack light sources, players can take advantage of the darkness to stealthily move in the shadows, or be forced to use torches to lighten up a room to search for some object or find their way in a path. One of the unique aspects of the game is the spell-casting system, where the player uses the mouse (or the directional pad in the Xbox version), to draw the rune of a particular spell. The most complex spells can be performed by combining runes.

Assassin's Creed (Director's Cut Edition)
The Director's Cut Edition is the Windows release of Assassin's Creed. While the core gameplay remains the same as in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, the Director's Cut Edition features some additions and improvements besides the more detailed graphics (including DirectX 10 support). The most noticeable addition are the four new additional informant missions which increases the total to nine available missions for each assassination. The four new ones are:
Roof Chase - once Altaïr has met up with an informant, he sends him to a second one which he needs to reach before the time runs out.
Kill the Archers - Altaïr needs to take out all the archers on the roofs in a defined zone silently so that the other assassins can move on with their own missions.
Destroy the Market Stands - as the name suggest, Altaïr needs to destroy a predefined number of market stands but will encounter heavy resistance from the marketeers.
Escort - a fellow member of the brotherhood has stolen something very valuable and now the guards are chasing him. Altaïr needs to escort him safely out of the city.Other changes include an improved artificial intelligence and a comfort function which allows Altaïr to port himself directly from the home of the brotherhood (Masyaf) to a city of his choosing provided he already visited it before. In the console releases Altaïr always had to ride through the kingdom to return to a already visited city.

Avencast: Rise of the Mage
As always Jonesch went down to the river to get water. As he walked towards the stream he noticed a basket on the shore. In it he found a baby with a strange amulet around his neck. He chose to take care of this lost child and raise him. Soon he discovered that the child had a great gift for magic and when the child was old enough, he send it to the mage academy of Avencast in the hopes that he would be able to satisfy his desire to know more about magic there. And perhaps the sorcerers of the best of all academies in Uria would know what the amulet meant. The basics of the game are the same as in other Action-RPGs like Diablo II. You fulfill quests, kill enemies and level up. But the game mechanics differ from those games. The first notable difference is the way the game is controlled. Instead of using the old click-and-move mechanic, your hero is controlled more heavily with the keyboard much like a FPS. To make it easier to adjust to that, you have the choice between three different control schemes ranging from a simple, more old-school system to a version where the camera is behind your hero at all times and everything plays much like an action game like Shadowgrounds. Casting spells is a little more tricky and it does not change with your control scheme. Each spell has a specific key combination assigned to it. The hammer of rage for example is activated by pushing "W", "S" and then the left mouse-button. If that is too complicated also the combinations are always shown under the spell on your hotbar, you can also define one of the F-keys to them. But they can be pretty hard to reach during a fight.Another break with established standards is that the game focuses less on items. This is most evident in the fact that enemies rarely drop any loot. Your main source for better items and gold is completing quests, looting chests or simply buying them at the trader. The focus is instead more on the three different magic schools "Bloodmagic", "Soulmagic" and "Conjuration". Each school has its own skill tree and each new spell is unlocked by investing the talent points you gain at each level up.Depending on how good you fight (magic efficiency and how many times you have been hit), you also gain points of fame. These are not important for the game itself but once you have finished the campaign, your hero will enter the "Hall of Heroes". There you can compare his points of fame and his equipment to all the other heroes you have created.

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
Baldur's Gate 2 is a party-based roleplaying game using the AD&D rules.Welcome to the beautiful land of Amn, where the sun always shines and evil mages grow and prosper. One of these is the powerful sorcerer Irenicus, who takes delight in studying mortal offspring of the gods -- such as you. Remember Baldur's Gate 1? You've been revealed to be a child of Bhaal (aka Lord of Terror, Bringer of Destruction, and so on), and your battle against the evil side of your soul is the main theme in Baldur's Gate 2. At your side: The well-known companions Imoen, Jaheira and Minsc (and his hamster Boo, of course) as well as a score of new potential party members. All in all, there are 16 NPCs to join you on your journey; however, your party consists of a maximum of 6 characters. As in Baldur's Gate 2, the frequent battles are real-time, but can be paused at any time with the space key. You may then think over tactical decisions, issue new orders or chose a spell. There's plenty of those: With over 300 magical formulae, the repertoire has almost tripled since Badur's Gate. Upon character creation, you can chose three new classes (sorcerer, monk, barbarian) and a lot of new specializations for the already existing classes; a paladin can become a dragon slayer or an inquisitor, for example. The weapon categories have been split up; instead of specializing in blades, you now have to chose between long swords, two-handed swords, bastard swords, katanas and scimitars. All in all, there are 20 weapon categories and 4 fighting skills like “two weapons”.The backgrounds may now be viewed in the resolution of 800x600 pixels, as well as the old 640x480. The game also supports 3D accelerators for improved lighting effects.

Beyond Divinity
Beyond Divinity is a role-playing game in which you play a servant to "the Divine" whose purpose in life is to oppose Evil at every turn. Instead of having a traditional "party", your only companion is your enemy .. a Death Knight soul-forged to you by a vengeful demon. Neither you nor your disgruntled, somewhat comical "soul mate" like the arrangement and would rather be free of each other as soon as possible. So together you take off in search of a way to undo the forging. The game plays out in 4 Acts over a huge territory. You begin in a dungeon-like jail and progress out into the open landscape (once escaping your prison). Explore an imp village, a monster-infested forests, atmospheres of fire and ice as well as numerous mysterious islands on your journey. There are over 140 different non-player characters including friendlies and monsters of various types. More than 300 sub-quests can be discovered by interacting with the NPCs, many of which are entirely optional. In addition to the main game questing, there are separate "battlefield" areas within each Act that have nothing to do with the main plot but are accessed by finding special keys in the main game. Intended to help you increase your skills, these accessory areas have more quests, multi-leveled dungeons as well as merchants and special objects that cannot be found anywhere else. The game is both keyboard and mouse controlled and is played out entirely in 3rd person, isometric perspective. Your character can be a male or female and there is a choice of several classes chosen during the character generation process. You control your "henchman" Death Knight in the same manner you would any other party member. Like your own character, you provide him with equipment and direction while exploring and battling. He can carry just as much (sometimes more) inventory and has his own abilities and skills.Although there are occasional in-game references to Larian's previous title, Divine Divinity, Beyond is not a sequel to Divine. It does use the same basic engine as the previous game but with improved party control, new interaction with objects and the environment.
BioShock

Action
BioShock
BioShock is considered the spiritual successor of System Shock 2 and mixes first-person shooting with role-playing elements. In the year 1960 a plane crashes in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with you as the only survivor. You have the apparent luck of resurfacing in front of what looks like a door to an underwater complex. Without hesitating, you enter the door and soon you are taught that this is the city of Rapture, a paradise of free will build in the 40s by Andrew Ryan, visually and socially inspired by objectivism of Ayn Rand. However, even before you assimilate all this new information, the descent to this supposed paradise ends and you only see ruins and chaos. Learning about the destiny of Rapture will be now your main motivation while you have to survive to the horrors that the free will can create.A sci-fi plot based on a social system that fails is not the only thing BioShock shares with it predecessor, as many features of its gameplay and even elements of Rapture are easily recognizable in SS2. Bioshock is an FPS, but with many elements that make the gameplay more complex than just shooting your enemies while advancing in the game. In addition to the usual, and not so usual, fire and melee weapons, the main character can use "plasmids", genetic tools created in Rapture that can give superpowers, like telekinesis or fire throwing, to those who use them. The enemies are also more complex, in the sense that they do not always go after your character to kill him. Most of them are inhabitants of Rapture, victims of the bizarre experiments performed in the city and empowered themselves with plasmids. There are also security devices that you can use for your advantage or creatures with symbiotic relationships like the "Big Daddies" and the "Little Sisters" and many others to be discovered. All of these features and some abilities of interaction with the surrounding give the player many ways of facing each situation. The entire game takes place in an underwater setting using an improved Vengeance engine, a heavily modified version of UnrealEngine3. Rapture is in ruins, you can see that everywhere you go and water is the key to all this. Water is what surrounds you and the city all the time and what slowly devours it with you inside. The water also helps building the dark atmosphere of Rapture the same way genetic engineering (and underwater architecture) helps establishing the sci-fi bases of the plot. Both, the setting and the plot are completed with many 50s furniture and propaganda, à la the Fallout series. The Xbox 360 and Windows version were released simultaneously. A PS3 port was only announced afterwards and was released more than a year later. There are no graphical improvements, except for the "horizontal plus" widescreen option that was introduced through a Xbox 360 patch. The cut-scenes are also in a higher resolution. A new addition is the Survivor Mode with a harder difficulty level.

Bookworm Adventures
Bookworm Adventures follows the tale of a little green worm named Lex (of the original Bookworm game) throughout 3 themed books as he spells words to defeat evil monsters. The main game interface is a 4x4 grid of letters, and unlike in the original Bookworm game, the letters do not need to connect to form words. The game is turn-based, and after the user attacks their opponent, the opponent then takes its turn. Each book is divided into 10 chapters that culminate in a "boss battle" in which the player is rewarded with a treasure upon defeating the enemy. Treasures do many things, ranging from increasing damage for using certain letters, to stunning the enemy, and a whole lot more. A player can only choose 3 treasures to bring with them into a chapter (out of an eventual total of 31).The game is part RPG, part word game. Eventually, the player will find that enemies can cause status ailments such as poison, bleeding, burning, stun, petrification, etc. These range from causing damage over time, to loss of a turn, to weakening their attacks. Through the use of certain treasures, items and special gem tiles, the player can cause similar inflictions to the enemy. In addition, after defeating a monster the player is awarded experience points, which will lead to a level up which imparts a bonus of either extra health, attack power increase, or defensive ability increased. The player is rewarded with gem tiles for spelling words of longer length (and also by using certain treasures which increase their frequency of appearance). Enemies will also sometimes drop potions. Health potions refill the user's health meter, attack potions increase their attack power by 50% and purify potions clear the player and tile grid of all status ailments. The game also includes an Arena mode (unlocked after completing all 3 books) in which the player can fight in real-time against all the bosses of the game. Every 5 opponents, the player is awarded one of each potion type and is allowed to change the 3 treasures they have equipped. Players are rewarded for spelling lots of short words quickly, attacking first, attacking many times before an enemy gets an attack in, defeating the opponent in 1-3 turns, and more. The more of these awards the player gets, the more bonus experience points they gain.

Celtic Tales: Balor of the Evil Eye
Celtic Tales: Balor of the Evil Eye is an isometric turn-based Strategy game with various RPG elements. Gameplay of this game may be identified as the following:
Provincial Development
To create a strong army, you must first create a strong home. The game starts with your province as the main screen. Numbers on the screen indicate how strong or how many provincial elements you have. You can also access the Fortress and Settlement menus from here. Here the province may be developed by your heroes with the following:
- Farm: To provide grain during autumn harvest.
- Cowherd: To breed and maintain cattle, an invaluable trade resource in Eire.
- Mine: Mine rocks to obtain metal used for building and item creation.
- Chop: Chopping down trees will provide wood for building and item creation. Character and Hero Development
The RPG elements of the game start here. A hero comes with a unique portrait, class, statistics, inventory (one item per hero) and skill proficiencies. The land of Eire comes with a unique set of 3 different character classes: The Warrior, the Bard and the Druid. Only Bards and Druids may cast spells. Spells are used and obtained by using specific orders of runes. Assigning Heroes on specific tasks may lead them to acquire certain skills than allow them to become better in certain roles.Diplomacy and Trade
The Fortress and the Settlement area’s allow you to conduct diplomacy and barter agreements. In the Fortress section, you may conduct tributes to open first-contact diplomatic channels with other tribes and further increase relationships by doing so, you may also attack (war) or attempt a cattle raid on neighboring provinces. In the Settlement section you may move your heroes and resources to another province, send caravans and resources for barter as well as create unique items by your heroes.War
War occurs when you invade or are invaded by enemy heroes. Diplomatic ties are automatically broken when an invasion commences. A maximum of 7 heroes may attack or defend a province. The defending army has the option before-hand to defend or to flee. Fleeing armies takes with them a portion of the province resources. An attack ends when either:[1] The enemy leader is captured or is killed;[2] The enemy routes;[3] The attacking enemy stays too long, thus must retreat. The winning army then decides the fate of the captured heroes (if any).

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
A long time ago an extreme powerful mage called the Seventh Dragon banished all demons from the world and paid with his death for this. But the prophecies tell that after a 1000 years, a Dark Messiah - half human, half demon - will return to the earth to destroy the barrier that stands between the worlds. Now twenty years ago a Demon Lord successfully mates with Isabel Queen of the Griffin Empire and all attempts of the Emperor to exorcist her fail (you can play this mission in Heroes of Might and Magic V) and the Dark Messiah is born. Also he doesn't know it yet, his goal is to optain the Skull of the Seventh Dragon called Skull of Shadows from Skull Island, where it is guarded by the orcs and destroy the barrier between the worlds with it.
The name of the Dark Messiah is Sareth and he's an mage apprentice. One day his master sends him to Stonehelm to help another mage retrieve the Skull. And so the Prophecy seems to become real. But it is yours to decide if you use the Skull, once you've optained it, for good or for evil since you are playing Sareth.Dark Messiah of Might & Magic is a 1st-person action game set in the medieval age so instead of guns you use swords, bows and magic to defeat your enemies. As you progress through the story you obtain skill points which you can invest in one of three skill trees called Combat, Magic and Stealth. How you skill Sareth directly influences the combat in the game. You can either play like an assassin and backstab your enemies to oblivion or make him a perfect sword-fighter who can use different combos to take out his enemies for example. But you can also use your environment to make your kills. There're countless items you can lift up and throw at your enemy or you can light up your arrow on a campfire nearby to inflict more damage. You can also make good use of your foot and kick your enemies off cliffs or kick them into spikes that come out of the wall or use other traps that are scattered in the levels like bringing a statue to a fall. The main innovation in Dark Messiah is the so-called Body Awareness System. This basically means that Sareth is a real part of the world like every other NPC. This makes not only the whole combat more intense because your whole body moves with every sword-swing you make but the NPCs can interact more directly with you. For example a Orc can take you by your neck and throw you through the room.If you've already saved (or damned) the world you can turn to the multiplayer-mode. There you've access to five different character classes from the knight to the priestess. With each kill you make you earn experience points and increase in rank. Then you get skill points you can invest in your skill tree to get new talents or upgrade existing ones. This is most important in the Conquest game-mode in which you play various maps in a row and keep your level between all the way. In the Conquest-mode two teams (Humans and Undead) fight over the possession of the flags on a map. Once one team holds all flags, it wins and the next map is loaded. But there's also normal (Team-)Deathmatch available.

GAMEPLAY
You can choose 3 different characters as your main hero:
1. Dwarven male Fighter
2. Half-Elven male Fighter
3. Elven female MageThese difference classes offer you different combat capabilities:
The Dwarven Fighter focuses more on melee close combat with minimal (axe-throwing) ranged and almost no magical capabilities.
The Half-elven Fighter or more precise: Ranger, focuses on non-magical ranged combat with his favorite bow. Possesses medium melee combat capabilities and some magical capabilities.
The Elven Mage focuses all her might in magical offense and defense. Spells may be found or learned as experience grows. The dungeons are filled with traps, streams, caverns, ledges and every possible obstacle to lose your way in this maze of mazes.

Disciples II: Dark Prophecy
This is the second part in the Disciples Series from Strategy First. It continues the plot of Disciples - Sacred Lands, ten years after the defeat of the undead hordes.Although the game may look very similar to the more known Heroes of Might and Magic series due to its turn based game style and its 2D Graphics, Disciples 2 offers some very fine and unique features to make it a game worth looking at. The game plays at a fixed resolution of 800x600, just like HOMM3. You'll either have the chance to play one of the single scenarios, play the campaign or join a multiplayer-game. A scenario editor is also included in the game package in order to create missions on your own.The core part of the game is the very well written campaign. Here, the story of Disciples II is told. You'll have to play each faction of the game: The Human Empire, The Mountain Clans, The Undead Hordes and Legion of the Damned. Just like in Blizzard's Starcraft, the story is linked together in the four parts of the campaign - you don't know what happens in the end unless you've played all races. The game not only focuses on the development of your heroes but also on your other characters. You don't send forth huge armies like in other games of the genre, you control parties similar to typical role-playing games. Each member of your party has special abilities you'll have to use with care in order to remain successful in the game.

The game has a surface level and an underground level. Above ground you command your units as in any other RTS, but below ground it's more like a hack n slash dungeon crawler. The D&D rules apply, and you will recognize many of the artifacts and spells if you are familiar with D&D.In the single player campaign you get to choose from four heroes before each map, each one with different qualities, and you can equip them with various items before each mission. Dungeon Siege

RPG
Dungeon Siege
Dungeon Siege is a direct descendant of the grandfather of all of today's Hack'n'Slay "roleplaying" games, Diablo. In Dungeon Siege, you control one or more heroes in a gigantic 3D modeled fantasy world, slaying hundreds of monsters, casting spells and gathering experience points and valuable items. The story is as simple as it is in the game's predecessors: you are a humble, yet unnamed farmer, whose lands are devastated by the evil Krug. Of course, you can't let this just happen to you, so you set for revenge...Where Diablo (and Diablo II) had hand-drawn or pre-rendered graphics, Dungeon Siege takes the 3D approach. The entire world is rendered in real time, and there is no loading between levels - since there are no levels. It's more like the Ultima 7/8 games, where you have one gigantic world plane to roam.As already expected, there are literally hundreds of monsters already awaiting our farmer, and of course there are many different weapons and items for him (or his party members) to acquire. This as well is a different approach - you can have a real party, all controlled by yourself (or your multiplayer friends, for that matter).

Each side is the exact duplicate of the other but with the difference that one side is pure depression and the other pure (but don't expect it being less deadlier) happiness - which also changes the look and behavior of the NPCs and monsters. But something is happening to the island and Sheogorath is looking for a champion to take care of it: you.On the Shivering Isles you will find new many new dungeons, items, ingredients and spells which you can of course take back to Cyrodiil as well. Many new quests and questlines await the adventurer of which many rely on the different sides of the Shivering Isles. Escape from Paradise City
Paradise City is a cruel city ruled by a gangster-organisation more powerful than anything the NSA has seen before. Known as the Aeternitas-case all agents but the special agent Walther J. Kovacs refuse to take over the case of the mysterious disappearance of all the cops in the city. To find out who is behind all this he forces three individuals to work for him. Since each of them has a different task in solving the puzzle and operate in different parts of the city, the player only controls one of them at once. The three characters are very different.Nicolas "Nick" Porter is a former thief and was forced to choose between life in prison or working for the NSA. He's specialised in range combat and uses guns and machine-pistols. Angel Vargas is instead more into close combat and uses her fists, knives and bats. She got the job because she killed a cellmate that tried to kill her. The last of them is Boris Chekov. He's a corrupt cop that is used to command people around and only trusts pistols.Since the game is a mix of RPG and Strategy, you earn XP for completing quests and killing thugs. Once you level up you gain attribute and skill points. With the attribute points you improve your mental and physical stats. The skill points are instead used to advance in the three different skill-tress "Marksmanship", "Tricks of the trade" and "Crowd control". Of course this isn't enough to deal with all those bad guys so you can also find and buy different kinds of items and weapons to give your character even more advantage. The strategy and managerial part of the game manifests itself in the fact that the maps are divided into districts. You conquer these districts by "persuading" the district boss. He will then tell all the shops that you are the new boss and the money flows in. But in a city with such a high crime rate, you can't leave a district alone while conquering another. You've to hire thugs that guard the district and defend it against enemy attacks. The four different kinds of thugs are range and melee fighters, medics and a scout which runs through the district and alarms the other when he sees an enemy inside the district. To make your guys more powerful you can buy some upgrades for them. The game also features two multiplayer-modes called "Assassination" and "Domination". While the goal in "Assassination" is to kill the enemy players a specified number of times, you need to conquer all districts on the map in the "Domination"-mode.

The heroes in the game are the units you move around the strategic map, much like the HoMM-series. But instead of having hordes of creatures following your hero, he/she is equipped with a deck of 15 cards. With these cards you can summon creatures and of course cast different spells. In the beginning you have only the standard set of cards available for your race (there are 4 different races), but as you capture different locations on the strategic map you can buy new more powerful cards. To buy cards you need resources, which you collect in the common strategy-gaming way (i.e. picking up resources just lying around or capturing mines). Both the strategic map and the battlefield are fully in 3D with detailed 3D-effects.

Evil Islands: Curse of the Lost Soul
There's trouble in the land of Gipath. Legends tell of the Chosen One that will come and save its inhabitants. However, they didn't think he'd appear as a mere boy with blond hair and grey pantaloons...You play the role of a young man named, Zak, who finds himself dazed and confused in a middle of some ruins. Without any idea who or where he is, he must travel between three islands in search of his identity, with plenty of tasks to accomplish. One of the unique things with this game is that you had a certain amount of freedom on how you wanted to complete your tasks. During the course of the game, you'll find new enemies and allies. Your party can support up to three people, and these are more or less fixed because of scripting. The difficulty quickly becomes pretty steep, and each completed mission leaves you with a feeling of "accomplishment". This game also features blueprints in which you can create your own armor, weapons and so on if you have the materials required. There are several types of materials, some sporting better qualities than others, but then again they're equally harder to come by. Even though somewhat awkward to use, the crafting part formed the start of a trend; user freedom in how players interact and create items in a game. The player is responsible for equipping every character in the party with items from his or her travels. The gameplay highly focuses on outwitting your enemies by crawling or sneaking to back stab and surprise your enemies, or pickpocketing a valuable item from an unsuspecting victim. The use of magic is also highly recommended, as many of the enemies you'll meet are best met with a fire bolt or a lightning strike at long range. The gallery of enemies varies from orcs, wizards and skeletons to mighty Dragons, Lizards and Cyclops.

Genesis Rising
Genesis Rising is a real-time strategy game with many game-play twists. You lead a fleet of organic ships and develop them throughout the campaign, using genes you have harvested from defeated enemies or have bought via trading. You meed numerous alien races and engage them in both conversation and combat. The whole game is set in space, however you can only play on a 2D plane and unlike games like Homeworld and Nexus you can't move ships vertically up or down. It is a basebuilding game and you collect resources similar to most RTS games, but all units can be configured on the fly, and with accordance with current conditions and objectives. Using "genes" you find from ship carcasses, you "mutate" your own in real time giving them new weapons and abilities. If you wish you can replicate any genes you've found or buy more from allies on the map. The only resources in the game is blood, which you pump from stations belonging to you right into your own supply. The only other restriction is the maintenance capacity which you increase by invading enemy stations. There are numerous alien races throughout the game, a lot of them controlling organic ships like yourself. The campaign centers around your quest to find the Universal Heart, the source of all life and matter, and thus become a true god.

PC -
RPG
Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods
Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods is a stand-alone addon for Gothic 3 and continues the story of the main game based on the ending where both Xardas and the nameless hero go through the portal. With the gods Innos and Beliar finally destroyed, Xardas predicted a thousand years of peace. They envisioned an era of rebuilding and understanding between the races of men and orcs. But instead out of the ashes of the Orcwar a new empire began to rise.In the north Gorn, ruler of Gotha in the north, assembled an army and started to rage war against Thorus. Thorus, the new ruler of the Orcs, of course couldn't just sit on his throne in Trelis and let Gorn slaughter the Orcs. So he himself began to attack the caravans and outposts around Geldern. Meanwhile Lee, the ruler of the kingdom in the east, decided to stay out of the skirmish and wait it out. Inog and Anog, the rulers of the lands surrounding Silden in the west, on the other hand are not in any position to stand up against Thorus or Gorn.Watching all this from a different plane of existence, the nameless hero decided to go back to Myrtana. Xardas tries to stop him and a battle ensues from which neither comes out as the victor. In the end Xardas vanishes and the nameless hero wakes up in a bed in Silden, under the distrustful eyes of Anog - and without his former strength. So the player once again takes over the control of the nameless hero in order to enforce the peace and he needs to decide which side he will be on. The gameplay remains the same as in the original game although the world is much smaller now and some changes are noticeable in it. Looking over the hero's shoulders, the player still takes on quests, kills monsters and ultimately gains experience to advance to the next level. This in return grants access to talent points to invest into different abilities like forging or learning how to fight with two weapons against the countless, but already known, enemies. To fight against them, the player again has access to countless melee and ranged weapons, armor and useful potions which he either finds or makes himself during the course of the adventure. The only real change can be found in the combat system which features an overhauled parry system and now heavily depends on the available stamina because if none is available, the hero can't swing his sword anymore and is totally defenseless. He can also perform a new, shooter-like strife move which allows him to get quickly out of harms way.
Gothic II

Gothic II
Gothic II begins soon after Gothic ended: the demon known as The Sleeper has been banished and the magical barrier around the prison mining colony on the isle of Khorinis destroyed. The nameless hero who accomplished this, however, had to pay a high price: he lies buried under a pile of rocks.Until he is revived by renegade mage Xardas. A new threat is rising: evil armies, led by dragons, are gathering in the old mine valley. Someone has to take the news to the people of Khorinis and help them in defeating this menace.
But the people have their own problems: the war against the Orcs is still raging on on the mainland, and the king has sent his paladins to Khorinis to make sure that the mining of the magical ore continues, now that the prisoners have fled the mine. Many of the former prisoners have now become mercenaries, hired by the farmers on the island, who refuse to obey the king and his minions any longer. Violent conflict seems inevitable. The 3D RPG Gothic II uses a refined version of the original Gothic's engine and controls. The world is many times larger than in the first game: the mine valley (which has changed a lot in the meantime) is still accessible, but is only a relatively small part of the game now. As in the original game, the player can join one of three different factions, with the choice influencing the player character's abilities, opening up different quests and changing the details of the story. The available factions are the city militia, the mercenaries and the fire mages.Combat and magic are action-based and happen in real time, as in the previous game.Gothic II also simulates a functioning world, where every NPC follows a daily schedule, and many objects are usable.

During the ceremony, strange events occur requiring Ryudo to escort Elena on a journey towards the Grandia 2 is a 3D RPG, viewed from a top-down perspective for most of the game and a 3rd person view during battle. Controlling Ryudo, the player will explore various locations, locating townspeople and objects within an area to interact with. Towns and dungeons are displayed in the same manner, though dungeons tend to be mazes filled with monsters and towns tend to be friendly areas filled instead with conversation and shops. Any monsters present in these areas will be shown walking around. Walking over to and touching the monster in any way will activate a battle. If the monster notices the player approaching it is considered a normal battle, if Ryudo is able to approach undetected the player's party will gain the initiative in battle, if any party member besides Ryudo is approached by the enemy then the party loses initiative. In battle, each character is able to choose from a list of actions that include "attack combos" (standard attack command), Special Abilities/Magic, "Critical Strike", Guard, Evade and Escape. Critical Strikes are weaker versions of attack combos with the advantage that they can block an enemy's action. This partly depends on the positions of the character on the action bar, displayed at the bottom of the screen, which shows each character (and enemy's) time to act within the battle. Some magic spells and special abilities are also able to block enemy actions, though they take longer to perform than normal attacks. Both combo attacks and critical attacks require the attacker to run up to the enemy in order to perform the action. This depends heavily on the character's individual movement as well as other characters acting as obstacles on the screen. Successfully defeating enemies in battle awards experience points, power points, magic points, gold and items.

This also allows for special combo moves which are used to kill powerful monsters quicker. You have health to watch, of course, but there is also Eden water. It not only provides some protection, depending on how much you have, but also allows Julie to run faster, jump farthur, and jump higher. Eden water is also needed to power some weapons. Hellgate: London
It's the year 2038 and London lies in ruins. The nearby Hellgate has turned the sky gray and it's presence dominates the horizon. The Invasion eradicated the powerful nations of man and the decades-long process called The Burn has begun which alters and assimilates our world to make it feel more like home for the demons that now roam the streets of the destroyed city. The last surviving members of mankind are hiding in the shadows deep down in the former train stations of the city and do what they can to fight back and perhaps even stop the madness. The game is an Action-RPG very similar to Diablo II. At the beginning you choose one of the three available factions called "The Templar", "The Cabalists" and "The Hunters". Each faction also features two different classes. For example the Templar use swords and fight face to face with the demon hordes but you can choose if you want to be a Templar Guardian or a Templar Blademaster. While the Guardian is more of a tank which uses his sword and shield to go deep into the crowd and increases his effectiveness when he's surrounded by demons, the Blademaster wields two swords at once and tries to kill his enemies as fast as possible. The choice of your character also changes the way you will play the game. While it is better for a melee-character to see his surroundings and so playing from a 3rd-person view, the classes that use guns are better off in the 1st-person view because they need to aim right at an enemy to really hit him. Of course you can change the view at any given time. What remains the same for all the characters is the core gameplay. You kill monsters, fulfill quests to level up your character and get the precious talent points you then invest in your attributes and the big skill tree to unlock new abilities or make you stronger. On your way you'll also find many items like armor or weapons. Although most of the stuff is limited to specific class, you can always dismantle an item in the hope of getting crafting material out of it. If you have enough material you then can upgrade your gear at the train stations.Although Hellgate: London has a single player-component, the main focus of the game lies on the multiplayer-mode which comes in two flavors: free of costs and a monthly subscription-based premium access. The premium model grants you access to additional content and other benefits like an additional Hardcore Mode (when the character dies, the character stays dead forever) or more inventory storage space. But both player types are on the same servers and can play together.

Martian Gothic: Unification
It's the year 2017. The planet Earth sets up a research station, Vita Base, on Mars with the mission to discover if life did exist there. After a discovery there comes one last garbled message—danger, danger cliché approaching--“have opened Pandora’s box… all the evils of old Mars have flown out,” and a warning, “…if you do send a manned mission, warn the crew…Stay Alone, Stay Alive…” then nothing. So now it’s 2018, and your rescue mission to Mars crash lands. When you get to the base, the welcome wagon is made up of zombies and an alien virus that will make you look back fondly on the days of the Black Plague. You control a team of three: Kenzo, Karne and Matlock. They enter the base from different airlocks and try to discover what happened. The reason for the whole "Stay alone, stay alive" warning is that if your team members come together they end up forming into a disgusting mass of flesh -- picture the thing from Leviathan -- called a Trimorph. As you proceed though the base you find clues as to what occurred. In addition, you run into Trimorphs, some of the non zombiefied former base crew, that are bent on your destruction. They come in two sizes -- the small spidery kind which hack at your shins and jump on your face or the huge "better run like hell" monstrosities that will tear you to pieces.

In the previous game, your party members could be humans only, and some of the classes were removed; "Might and Magic VII" allows you to choose between humans, elves, dwarves, and goblins, and brings back the character classes that were featured in earlier games.

NightStone
In NightStone you get the chance to play a Barbarian, Sorceress and Amazon, joining forces to wade your way through a land plagued by evil to destroy the NightStone.A basic isometric roleplayer, each of your characters has a limited series of statistics and an overall 'level' that, obviously, increases as you play. Limited inventory slots exist for each character and, with only one location to sell and buy items present in the game, you will have to juggle your inventory carefully. The land you explore is split up into over 30 'sections', each of which is the basis for a single mission. Missions can be 'destroy all of monster type X', or 'find such-and-such an item' or even just make it through alive. Each of your champions start the game at different points of the landscape, so your first few missions will be spent just getting them together to join forces. Saves are not possible during a single mission - only once you have completed and returned to main land overview map.Multiplayer options are also available, and the game comes with a simple-to-use adventure and mission editor that will allow you to create your own quests for up to 8 friends to play.

Planescape: Torment
I was awakened on a cart which the zombies just pushed into the room, closing the doors behind them. The dim light allowed me to see the dead bodies scattered around the room, lying on tables and waiting for the zombie workers to take them away. I looked at myself. What are those scars all over my face? What are those tattoo markings on my back? And, most importantly - who am I?Maybe the floating skull, who calls himself Morte, will explain it to me? It is difficult for me to understand why Morte decided to accompany me on my quest for identity. I know only I don't remember anything. Memories of love, a woman's face, good and bad deeds of my life - all this has been replaced now by the dreadful reality of the mortuary. And so my journey began. I, The Nameless One, opened the doors of the mortuary, only to dive into a world full of strange encounters, grotesque characters, broken hopes, despair and hatred. Piece by piece I'll try to solve the puzzle and to discover who I am.Featuring the real-time-with-pause Infinity Engine, employed in "Baldur's Gate", this is a role-playing game using a heavily altered variation of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, 2nd Edition, rules. The flexible customization of the main character allows you to make him virtually anything you want to, and the party of unique and grotesque characters is almost as customizable as the hero himself. Titan Quest: Immortal Throne
It was a big fight high above on the Olymp but in the end the hero won the fight and eradicated the evil from the earth. Or did he? Zeus knows that the hero missed something and sends him to the temple of Apollon on the island of Rhodos. There he hears of the evil that still resides in the one place that was not visited: the domain of Hades, the resting place of the dead. Hades commands his demons to kill all living creatures and the hero cannot allow that to happen, so he descends into the underworld, crosses the river Styx and even travels to the Elysian Fields in order to hunt Hades down and make himself a customer in his own realm. To do so the add-on Immortal Throne not only expands the level cap to 75 (+10 compared to the original game) but also adds a new mastery called "Dream". This mastery uses deceptions and illusions to seduce, disorient and, of course, kill enemies. In the item department the expansion not only adds over 500 new items but also new types of objects such as arcane formulas which, once deciphered by a Enchanter, reveal how to make powerful artifacts which can be placed in the new slot in the character screen to increase the abilities. To make these artifacts, three reagents are needed, which can be everything from relics to other artifacts and scrolls.Scrolls are new, too. They contain powerful one-time spells such as "Raise the Dead" or "Heal me completely". The last new item is the Gravestone. A Gravestone appears on the location where the hero is killed and when it is revisited, a large part of the lost experience points is regained. The companion system has also been reworked. The player can assign different behavior patterns like Aggressive or Defensive to anyone. It is now also easier to control them as they can be selected either directly with the function keys, or marked as a whole group with a single key. The new companions are not the only new NPCs in the new and old world. There are also the Carvans and the already mentioned Enchanters. In the wagons of the Caravan items can be stored for later use when the available space in the inventory becomes scarce, similar to the chest in Diablo II. Items can then be accessed anytime and at any Outpost. The Enchanter not only deciphers arcane formulas but can also remove Relics from weapons and armor.A few changes were made in the multiplayer part of the game. The most obvious is the overhaul of the lobby system. Open games now have detailed information shown including a list of the characters currently playing. Completely new is the possibility to activate PvP on a server to spice the action up a bit.Of course, this expansion brings many more small additions and changes from which the original game also profits.

It is the Middle Ages in Europe, and people live in constant fear of demons and God's punishment. Christof is a warrior who fights the creatures of darkness. After being badly injured in a battle, he is nursed back to health by the nun Anezka in a Prague convent. Love strikes Christof when he least expects it. He realizes that it is impossible for him and Anezka to be together, but he swears to protect her and the town of Prague from demons. What he does not know is that Prague has become a battlefield for the struggle between different vampire clans. The Brujah clan sees a duty in protecting their wisdom and the unsuspecting mortals from the more vicious clans. They turn Christof into a vampire, hoping to use his skills and his passion for their cause. Christof has lost his soul, his faith, everything he had ever had, becoming one of those he had always fought and hated. But his love to Anezka has not died. And so Christof agrees to help the Brujah, getting involved in a complex net of intrigues and struggle between vampire clans, a struggle that will eventually take him to modern times, to London and New York, where his fate will finally be decided.Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption is based on White Wolf's pen-and-paper RPG. Gaining experience points, you develop Christof and other characters by increasing their statistics (such as Strength, Intelligence, Manipulation etc.) or learn and improve various disciplines, the magic spells of the game. Disciplines require blood, which can be restored with items or by feeding on enemies. Combat is done in real time. You have a party ("coterie") that is controlled by AI, but you can switch between different characters at any time. Following the ethical code of the RPG, there is a Humanity bar for Christof, which can be reduces if you kill innocents or take evil decisions in the game. The game has several different endings that depend on your Humanity level. There is also a multiplayer option.
